Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the MongoBro mobile application ("App", "Service") operated by MongoBro ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, do not use the App.

1. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business use in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app store terms.

This license does not include the right to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its source code
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Rent, lease, or lend the App to others
• Use the App for any commercial resale or service bureau purpose

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MongoBro only for lawful purposes. You must not use the App to:

• Access MongoDB databases or systems you do not own or have explicit authorization to access
• Exfiltrate, steal, or misuse data belonging to others
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to circumvent any security measures in the App or any server you connect to
• Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful data through the App

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• The security of the MongoDB connection strings and credentials you enter into the App
• Ensuring you have proper authorization to connect to any MongoDB server you access
• Any consequences arising from connecting to a MongoDB server using the App
• Keeping your device secure so that saved connections are not accessed by unauthorized parties

We strongly recommend using MongoDB users with the minimum necessary privileges (read-only roles) when using the App for browsing purposes.

4. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, code, and content, is owned by MongoBro and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. MongoBro is not affiliated with MongoDB, Inc. "MongoDB" is a registered trademark of MongoDB, Inc.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any information obtained through the App will be accurate or reliable.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MongoBro and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

• Data loss or corruption of your MongoDB data
• Unauthorized access to your MongoDB server or data
• Loss of profits, goodwill, or business opportunity
• Any damages arising from connecting to an unauthorized or insecure MongoDB server

In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for the App (which, if the App is free, is zero).

7. Third-Party Services

MongoBro connects to MongoDB servers you specify. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or security of any third-party MongoDB server or MongoDB Atlas service you connect to. Your use of MongoDB Atlas is subject to MongoDB Inc.'s own terms of service.

8. App Store Terms

Your download and use of the App is also governed by the terms of the app store through which you obtained it (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the app store terms, the app store terms govern with respect to the app store's scope.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the developer is domiciled, unless otherwise required by local consumer protection law.
